SCHAUMBURG, IL — The 13th Annual Brickworld Chicago International Brickfilm Festival lit up the convention floor on Saturday, June 20, 2026, delivering one of its largest and most energetic showcases to date. With 12 films submitted by registered Brickworld attendees and a total of 21 screened, this year’s festival demonstrated just how vibrant and ambitious the global brickfilming community has become.

After several years of standing-room-only crowds, organizers were thrilled to secure the biggest room available — and fans wasted no time filling it. The expanded space allowed filmmakers, families, and LEGO® enthusiasts to enjoy the full slate of films together, celebrating both seasoned creators and rising talent. Festival organizers extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, as well as to sponsors Brickworld and Bricks in the Six for helping make the event possible.

The event organizers gave a special shoutout to returning judge Adam (@AntBandit), whose insight and enthusiasm continue to elevate the festival. The also thanked volunteers Shane, Sophie, Simon, Katie, Leanne, Josh, Chris, and many others, along with the Brickworld staff who kept the event running smoothly.
The 2026 Brickworld Chicago International Brickfilm Festival proved once again that brickfilming is thriving — fueled by creativity, community, and the joy of storytelling one brick at a time.

Next year's Brickworld theme will be "Myths and Legends" and thus will be the film festival's. Expect an official announcement regarding rules and prizes from the cinema team in early 2027. Event photos and 3 main category winners are embedded below.

Steinerei 2026, Germany’s long‑running LEGO® brickfilm festival, delivered a lively evening of premieres, community celebration, and filmmaker recognition during its June 20 event in Detmold. Hosted at the newly built Kaiserhof+ cinema, the festival centered on the theme “Hoffnung” (Hope), inspiring a diverse slate of short animated films ranging from comedy to heartfelt drama. As always, each screening was followed by jury commentary, culminating in both jury‑selected and audience‑voted awards that highlighted standout achievements in storytelling and animation craft.

The results for the No Brick Contest hosted by Brickfilms.com were announced recently. Under the rules, each entry could only feature a minifigure—or an equivalent character—moving within a set that uses as few LEGO elements as possible, with filmmakers even encouraged to use no LEGO pieces at all if they choose.

The contest was judged by Pitry, calv and AB.
