This year’s theme is “Such Great Heights,” and directors are welcome to interpret it literally or metaphorically. The festival has continued to grow, and contestants can win a wide range of prizes.
What’s New for 2026
- The festival expanded significantly in 2025, and this year continues that momentum.
- Over $1600 in prizes will be awarded, including a new Youth Award category.
- The red carpet and photo wall are returning, along with free popcorn for the audience.
- Formal attire is recommended, but not required.
- Brickworld remains committed to supporting LEGO stop‑motion as a leading creative medium in North America.
- A LEGO stop‑motion workshop
- A continuous screening room (the Brickfilm Theater)
- Many other LEGO‑focused activities
- Your film must use LEGO elements to tell a story. Animation, live action, or a mix of both is allowed.
- Length must be 30 seconds to 5 minutes 30 seconds.
- Your film must be new and never submitted to a previous Brickworld Film Festival.
- Using the theme “Such Great Heights” is optional but encouraged.
- Anyone may enter, but only Brickworld Chicago Registrants are eligible for most prizes.
- The International Trophy and $150 Gift Card are open to all entrants.
- The Youth Award is for Brickworld Registrants 13 and under.
- Films must be appropriate for all ages. Content with swearing, excessive violence, sexual content, or drug use may be disqualified.
- You must own the rights to everything in your film (visuals, music, characters). No unlicensed copyrighted material.
- By submitting, you grant Brickworld permission to use your film or clips for screenings, programs, the website, future events, and promotional purposes.
- One entry per director.
