The contest will last just 24 hours from January 3, 2026, 7:00 am EST to January 4, 2026, 7:00 am EST. The goal is to complete all writing, recording, animating, and editing within the one‑day window.
The contest is open to anyone not banned from Bricks in Motion. No account is required, though community participation is encouraged. Joint productions are allowed.
The theme, which will be a word or a phrase, will be revealed at the start of the contest. The THAC 2026 logo must appear for at least 3 uninterrupted seconds. Entrants must include one of two randomly assigned mod elements (color mod or letter mod) in every shot, with a 15‑second lenience allowance. The animation just be primarily LEGO (or similar) stop motion animation with a minimum runtime of30 seconds and no maximum limit. No explicit or mature content is allowed and an epilepsy warning required for flashing imagery. Entries must remain private until after the deadline. The submitted version must match the public release.
The brickfilms will be judged on originality, production value, story, and creative interpretation of the theme. Top three films will win prizes and entries below 15th place are not publicly ranked.
The judges this year will include Robin (das Robin), The Tenacious Brick, Gregory Animations, Nurtnaut and LOTW Studios.
