Brickfilm Day is hosting a new brickfilm festival centering around J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth.
"Back in 2012, 2013 and 2014 you might remember seeing a lot of J.R.R. Tolkien brickfilms from numerous creators, but since then theyâve altogether disappeared along with the community who made them. Well theyâre making a comeback, for one day only, as a part of our new event, the Middle Earth Brickfilm Festival!" â Email brickfilmday@gmail, or DM the Brickfilm Day Instagram or Twitter account (@brickfilmday) if you would like to participate. â See the video for more details. Last February, Brickfilm Day held it’s first community event, Brickfilm Day 2018. Fifty-six brickfilmers uploaded a brickfilm or brickfiming related video, all in celebration of 45 years since the very first known stop motion created using LEGO bricks - ‘En Rejsen til Månen’ (‘A Journey to the Moon’).
In 2019, Brickfilm Day will again be hosting the event on the same weekend as last, with the event occurring from Saturday 9th to Sunday 10th of February, also tying into the release of the upcoming Lego Movie sequel. The concept behind the event is the same as in 2018, however, to accommodate for the anticipated greater interest this year, Brickfilm Day will be spreading out the schedule of uploads across 2 days rather than the one. This should also allow for a greater spread of uploads, giving each film a more substantial spotlight. Participants will be given full creative freedom over their project, providing they publish it at a mutually agreed time, and provide a playlist link to the other event entries. The Brickfilm Day Youtube Channel will upload a video detailing how people can get involved in a few weeks time. If you are interested in participating in this event please email [email protected]. |
