The fifth editition of Cine Brick took place June 9th through 11th in Paredes de Coura in the North of Portugal. The festival takes place alongside the International Fan Weekend, an AFOL event.  An international audience from several different counties watched dozens of brickfilms in a real movie theater.

The festival began this year with the documentary Bricks in Motion, a film is about brickfilming and brickfilmers, and includes interviews from several brickfilmers. Most of the brickfilmers in the documentary have had their work shown at Cine Brick this year or in past years.

Tommy Williamson was in attendance this year, and a section called "Bricknerd Special" was presented by him and included all his brickfilms.

The world premiere of Sheep, by Maxime Marion was also shown. That brickfilm had its first screening and also won first place.

Cine Brick 2017 winners:
1st place: Sheep, Maxime Marion (Studios Epsilon)
2nd place: New York Lego Gangsters - The Great Getaway, Joshua Chawner (Hamster Productions)
3rd place: Assassin's Lego: Cops Chasing Robbers, Enrique Fuster (Harryandbillybrick)
Best under 16: Type Amen - A Lego Horror Short, Mack Struthers (Brick On Productions)
