Fanabriques is an association aimed at LEGO fans of all ages and offers activities to it's members throughout the year. Fana'Briques 2023 (their yearly LEGO expo) was recently held from Saturday, September 30, 2023 to Sunday, October 1, 2023. It was held in Colmar, France and attracted over 12,000 Lego fans from all over the world. Fana'Briques features exhibitions of Lego creations by professional and amateur builders, workshops where visitors can build their own creations, brickfilming workshops, and a brickfilm screening room. This year, the brickfilms space had its own room, far from "the hustle and bustle of the exhibition halls". The brickfilms space was made up of a “brickfilm screenings” section and a “stop motion workshop”, to introduce the public to the technique of frame-by-frame animation. The “stop motion workshop” was led this year by Alex, France (of France & Alex), and Maxime Marion. Around fifty participants came to try their hand at the art of brickfilming throughout the weekend. The “brickfilm screening” section allowed visitors to review all the Fana’Briques teasers since 2009, and to discover a selection of 18 quality and often funny brickfilms, divided into 6 programs which were screened throughout the weekend.
